For a few hours, the Genshin Impact game servers will be unavailable due to maintenance. Do not panic though, this maintenance takes place on January 17 and is scheduled to last 5 hours. Anyone still logged in when the servers are down will have their progress lost.
A maintenance for patch 3.4 is to be expected, and the latter should start on Tuesday 17 January 2023. Between 23h00 and 4h00 (French time) the game will therefore be unavailable. These times are approximations, servers may be open earlier, but also later.
To apologize for these few empty hours in Teyvat, miHoYo offers compensation for all players. 60 Prime Gems are given to each player per hour the game is unavailable. But if the maintenance takes less time than expected, the sum of 300 Primogems will still be distributed.
- Date of maintenance – Tuesday, January 17, 23:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. (French time)
After a maintenance, updating the game differs depending on the medium you are on. For iOS, Android, PS4 and PS5 players, just wait for the end of the maintenance and then restart the game. All you have to do is download the new resources while loading and you're done.
For those on PC, updating the game requires you to wait for the end of maintenance to relaunch the launcher. The latter changes the "Play" button to "Download", which you must do. Once the installation is complete, you can launch the game again. However, it is possible to update the game by pre-downloading the patch a little before. All that remains is to install it the next day.
