The next patch of Genshin Impact is coming soon and a lot of new things are to be expected. But this 1.2 update mainly introduces a new area into the game: the Dosdragon Mountains. Large snow-capped mountain, various dangers lurk on the winding paths. But there are also many secrets to hide here.
New area, Dosdragon Mountains
A brand new Adventure Zone is opening up to players for Patch 1.2, and it's called Dosdragon Mountains. These constitute the mountain separating Liyue and Mondstadt, and offer a snowy and corrupted landscape. A unique new mechanic made his appearance : the Great Cold. This very particular weather condition encourages adventurers to remain cautious and to cover themselves properly before their ascent.
The particular climate of this zone gradually attacks the player. The Great Cold thus fills a bar of frost that the character can withstand. When it comes to an end, the hero starts taking regular damage until he dies or finds something to keep warm. Phenomena such as storms or swimming accelerate the process.
This slow death can, however, be avoided. using objects scattered around the area. Braziers, campfire, burning fairies or even statues of the Seven help you in your ascent. Certain types of food can also help you endure these freezing temperatures, as well as a new gadget. But these are which blood crystals are the most interesting in these corrupted lands.
These mysterious new stones can be found all over the Dosdragon Mountains. Each crystal has the power to immunize whoever uses it to the Great Cold. Keep your eyes peeled as you climb to spot these ores and smash them for warmth. But these crystals have another use. All the heat they produce allows you, when you consume them, to break the most resistant blocks of ice.
On the occasion of the opening of this new area, a new dungeon also opens its doors. THE Peak of Vindagnyr offers a new challenge to players and allows to recover pieces of sets ice breaker et soul of the depths. In the latter you will be confronted with various monsters, but also with the Great Cold. Throughout the challenge the ground will change, becoming sometimes hot, sometimes frozen, thus modifying the speed at which the Great Cold creeps in.
Permafrost Tree and Rewards
If you missed hunting Anemoculus and Geoculus, the Dosdragon Mountains have thought of you for patch 1.2! The Permafrost Tree has an offering level to increase. To do this, you must travel the mountain in search ofpurple agate to offer him. Each level of offering reached unlocks new rewards, including weapons, materials of ascension and elevation, stones of Destiny and Fatality or even a glider cosmetic.
Once level 9 is reached, in addition to the rewards, the scarlet desire also unlocks. The latter offers 5 quests that reset on Mondays and Fridays and allow you to recover more Purple Agate to offer. As soon as the maximum offering level is reached, the scarlet desire and his quests disappear.
