Times are difficult for consolidations, and some companies have understood this. For this reason, Epic Games and Houseparty have teamed up to bring video calling to Fortnite. It is therefore now possible to enjoy a game of Battle Royale live with your friends, and see them directly on the edge of your screen.
Houseparty and Fortnite, keeping in touch in game
For several months now Fortnite has been moving further and further away from video game codes to get closer to those of a social network. And that's what its creators would like to do with it: a virtual meeting place where people meet to relax and have fun with friends. The collaboration in Fortnite and Houseparty, a video calling application, is therefore completely understandable, especially in such a sensitive period.
For the moment this feature is available on PC, PS4 and PS5 and allows you to invite your friends to play a game while displaying their cameras on the side. This requires having an Android or iOS phone with the Houseparty app downloaded. You will therefore now be able to see your loved ones while sharing a game of video games together.
Link Houseparty and Epic Games accounts
Before you can dive into the deep end, you first need to link your accounts. This will allow you to unlock a skin a game, and take advantage of the new feature. To link your Houseparty and Fortnite accounts, everything happens directly on the Houseparty mobile application. You need to click on the television icon at the top, and enter your Epic Games credentials.
You can then join a party on Housparty, and enjoy in-game video calls.
- Open Houseparty on iOS or Android
- Go to settings to log in to Fortnite
- Invite your friends to your Houseparty “party”
- Launch Fortnite (PC and Playstation only)
