The Fortnite World Cup 2020 will ultimately not take place. Following concerns related to the Coronavirus crisis, Epic Games has decided not to organize any physical event. We must therefore wait until 2021 to perhaps see the World Cup return to the game.
Before any announcement concerning cash prize tournaments, Epic Games wants above all to ensure the reliability of their servers. The announcements concerning the World Cup, as well as its dates, have therefore been postponed, and we will have to wait a little longer. We will keep you informed of any new changes as soon as a new communication is made public.
After a rather successful first edition, the Fortnite World Cup should return for the year 2020. Again, this edition should start around April, ending in a show during the summer. Dates to remember for the Fortnite World Cup 2020
Since nothing is announced at the moment, we can only assume the different dates for the Fortnite World Cup. However, if the dates remain similar to last year, then we can expect an announcement soon. With the first information regarding the World Cup having arrived at the end of February 2019, we can expect that to be the case this year too. Thus, the different formats, dates of qualifications and place of competition of the finals should be revealed between February 24 and March 15.
The different formats of the competition
Regarding the different formats of the competition, we can expect to see those present in the 2019 edition again. Thus, the Battle Royale mode would see a duet competition et solo, While creative mode would see 8 teams of 4 players. However, we can expect see Trio mode land, the latter not being sufficiently implemented in 2019 to be played. Players would therefore have one more chance of qualifying for the final stages. Un tournoi Pro-AM should also take place, bringing together the most influential players.
The qualifying phases should once again last 10 weeks, and will decide between the players over these micro competitions. They should also take place over 3 hour sessions, with a total of 10 playable games. At the end of the latter, the accumulated points will make it possible to establish a top, where the various players will qualify.

Creative Format
The competition is played on a map created for the occasion by a player who will also be team captain in the final. The 3 best players on the map are thus qualified.
Format Pro AM
Qualification is by invitation. 50 players designated by Epic Games will form a duo with an artist or a celebrity invited by the company.
Cashprize and distribution of World Cup prizes
Since the Fortnite World Cup 2020 has yet to be announced, we don't know how many millions of dollars Epic Games will put into this competition. We can, however, expect a sum similar or higher than that of the 2019 edition, with prizes for the qualifying and final stages.
