Final Fantasy XVI won't show up until Spring 2022

First appeared in September 2020, Final Fantasy XVI seemed then in the final stretch of its development. But the game has been entirely absent in 2021. Predictably, it has fallen behind in development during the pandemic. At least 6 months have been lost according to producer Naoki Yoshida.

A producer who therefore begins to have the habit of posting such messages. He was also in charge of communicating about the concerns of Final Fantasy XIV. FF XVI suffers from the same ailments, having to face different working conditions during the pandemic. And if provisions have been made for 2022 to be less impacted, it is impossible to make up for lost time.

This is why Square Enix did not show any image of the title in 2021. But on the other hand gives an appointment in the spring of 2022, for big revelations on its RPG. Recall that on the sidelines of the TGS last October, Naoki Yoshida explained that “the main scenario [of Final Fantasy XVI] is in place, and that efforts are now focused on the last of the quests called annexes“.

So there is little chance of having to wait very long before you can get your hands on the game. Which will be a PS5 exclusive, or at least temporarily. A PC version had been mentioned in the first trailers, before being withdrawn. Since then, almost radio silence, but PC ports have multiplied on the side of Sony.
