FIFA 22, list of new icons for FUT mode

Like every year, EA adds icons for FIFA FUT mode, here we list the various leaks concerning the new FIFA 22 icons. Note that the content of this article will mainly include leaks before an official announcement by the end July from EA.

Update : Updated September 19. Wayne Rooney is the fourth and a priori, last icon added to the launch of FIFA 22.

The list of new FUT icons for FIFA 22

Wayne Rooney completes the first group of three players, adding four icons for FIFA 22. Note that other legends were leaked earlier this summer and a similar situation to Beckham last year (added in full season ) could take place.

We now hope that other icons will be announced, including those listed below.

List of icons made via various leaks

For now, it is important to remember that this list is taken from leaks only which seem credible to us. The sources of these leaks are generally safe and the names mentioned seem to correspond with EA's logic.

Adriano, the superstar of the 2000s would be a big surprise since if the Brazilian player dominated the Italian league for a few years, EA generally prefers to celebrate players who have had long careers. Nevertheless, credible sources (in English) mention the former Inter player.

Anthony DiNatale, the Italian striker has had a long and solid career in Serie A, although fans would have preferred Franceso Totti or Luca Toni…

Alfredo Di Stefano, the legendary Spanish player (he also played with Argentina and Colombia) should also land on FIFA 22 if we are to believe solid sources (in English).

Cafu, the former captain of the Brazil team in the late 90-2000s, the defender should add a few more defensive options on the side of the icons.

Iker Casillas, present on FIFA 4 for a few weeks, the Spanish goalkeeper could join the small group of iconic goalkeepers next year.

Wayne Rooney, the English player would find himself immediately propelled to the rank of icon just after the end of his career. If at the start the leaks seemed not very credible, the code of the card was found in July (source in English).

John Terry, the English player would have formalized the signing of these rights a few weeks ago, although EA has not confirmed anything about it.

Robin Van Persie, while we hoped to see it on FIFA 22, it seems that the code for the card was found on July 7 (source in English).

These names are considered guaranteed while the rest of the names that we are going to list are for the moment predictions and not leaks.

FIFA 22 New Icon Predictions

Last year we predicted the arrival of icons from small nations like Suker, Eto and Drogba. This year, it looks like EA is looking to add some legendary players from recent times (2000s) as well as 2-3 icons that have been snubbed for years.

  • Gabriel Batistuta
  • Franz Beckenbauer
  • Diego Forlan
  • Robin Van Persie (since confirmed)
  • Gerd Muller
  • Zico
