List of the best strikers and scorers for FUT on FIFA 23
Here we list the best players, attacking and scoring cards, according to their position on the map for AG/MG and AD/MD. On the other hand, the ATs will be placed in BU if they are scorers, otherwise they are present in the MOC category of our Meta of the best midfielders on FIFA 23. Thus, an effective MG card in BU will be in our list in as MG, with a rating for Best Role below.
The best left attackers in FIFA 23
Generally forwards on the wing need to have good speed and if possible a combo of agility and passing play to be effective. Note that here, several MG/AG cards will be offered with a different ideal position in note, to explain where to play it during the game.
Vinicius Jr FUT Birthday, Real Madrid, La Liga
While he was already one of the very best attackers in FIFA 23 via its PTG then TOTY MH versions, Vinicius Jr anchors himself a little more at the top of this ranking thanks to this FUT Birthday. Now 5-5 in all-stars, the Brazilian player continues to be that threat on the wing and in ST. If he lacks a bit in strength, it is above all the aspect of balance and calm that could limit his interest at the top of Meta FIFA. However, this is compensated by his physique in play but above all by the use of the Gunner style, which improves his dribbling and his strength. Note that his offensive AI likes to push him a little on the left wing, so we really recommend him in AG / MOCG rather than in BU. In a Scorer role, the latter will only be effective in a two-BU system.

Recommended style: Gunner or Vista
Marcus Rashford TOTS, Man United, Premier League
Like all his cards this year, Rashford TOTS is far too expensive for what he brings into play. With an overall price three times higher than Mo Salah TOTS at the time of writing this review, the English player is one of the most expensive cards in the game. Still, is Rashford one of the best forwards in FIFA 23? Yes, but honestly, it's not a card that will shine in all hands. To really take advantage of him, you need to be able to use his 5-star skill moves as well as have an offensive pattern where you'll let his AI drag him down the left wing a bit. Indeed, his AI is very good but it pushes him to play on the left, even in a BU role. If you know how to take advantage of it, Rashford TOTS will be truly deadly. Otherwise, take advantage of its price to buy a whole TOTS team…
Recommended Style: Finisher or Cannoneer
Allan Saint-Maximin TOTS, Newcastle, Premier League
Frankly, we weren't necessarily sure of this card during our very first match with it. On paper, Payet TOTS Moments seemed to be almost as good, while being free. However, in game, Saint-Maximin TOTS quickly demonstrated that he was one of the best attackers in FIFA 23. It must be said that his attacking AI is really incredible, with a very aggressive position and calls. Thus, he is much better in BU or AG than in MOC because he will tend to quickly project himself forward. However, the French player is a rather atypical card on FIFA due to a strong physique on a small stature. So, despite great agility in the stats, the player tends to be a little stiff at times if you're dribbling with the stick. Conversely, this physique and its strength make it possible to win a lot of duels. In addition, this small size helps with ranged shooting movements, although its animations are sometimes a bit slow.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye or Cannoneer
Gabriel Martinelli TOTS, Arsenal, Premier League
You certainly saw it coming! While we loved its RTTF version, Martinelli is back with this TOTS. It's a real pleasure to use the Brazilian player who is, thanks to his flexibility and his explosiveness, one of the best agile attackers on FIFA 23. This is explained by an ideal physique in play, a very great agility but also 99 in acceleration. Thus, using the Vista style, we obtain an extremely complete map on the left wing, capable of overflowing, centering or finishing the action. If its high/high output is a little spoiled given its level of defensive stats (a position in MG is not really optimal at this stage of the game), the level of physics of the card would allow to play it in ST with a style like Sniper. Note that its RTTF version remains more than playable even if given the price of the TOTS, it will be difficult to justify its use at a high level.
Recommended style: Vista or Sniper
Marco Reus TOTS Moments, Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga
If we generally consider Reus as an MOC, this TOTS Moments version is clearly more versatile. Thus, depending on your device and the style used, the German player can be used in BU, AG/AD or MOC. It must be said that the Borussia veteran has a lot of assets at stake: a unique physique, 4-5 stars, a wide range of traits and excellent stats. Therefore, Reus TOTS Moments is a very complete option that we loved in BU in a device with two Goalscorers but even more in a role of MOC in a formation with two attacking midfielders. In both cases, the idea being to take advantage of his shots from a distance to stretch your opponent's defense a little.
Recommended Style: Finisher or Eagle Eye
Federico Chiesa RTTF, Juventus, Serie A
We loved his OOP version earlier this season and the return of Chiesa in this RTTF card makes us extremely happy. The Italian player is still this very quick and agile attacker, able to take advantage of spaces to make the last pass or to shoot. Better, despite an average in-game physique, Chiesa is very flexible in its use, which makes it a playable option for everyone. The only real fly in the ointment is the loss of the Explosive Usable Style Eagle Eye, which pushes players to a choice between Vista and Finisher from a scorer's perspective. Alas, Juve lost in the semi-finals, preventing them from obtaining a 5th star on a weak foot.
Recommended Style: Finisher, Vista, or Eagle Eye
Dimitry Payet TOTS Moments, OM, Ligue 1
The best free card in FIFA 23 and one of the best strikers in the game, Dimitry Payet TOTS Moments is clearly a great option at the start of the TOTS season. Back after a very interesting WW card, the French player is a rather particular attacker. It must be said that his strong physique in play but his small size create a rather strange combo that we do not often find (Fekir, Saint-Maximin). Thus, Payet will be very physical in a duel but quite agile, allowing him to evolve in ST, in MOC or on the wing. Better, it gives him good animations on shots, especially at a distance. On the other hand, this physique also makes his touches on the ball relatively irregular, a problem for those who play mainly with the left stick. That's why we prefer it with the Motor style.
Recommended Style: Engine
David Ginola FUT Heroes, Ligue 1
Although lacking the Lengthy running style, Ginola is something of a pivot on FUT. Indeed, with his large size and limited balance, the French player could be quite difficult for some to use. However, with Engine, these weaknesses are much reduced while his 5-5 stars and stats will make the difference in front of goal. A card to use in BU, his secondary position, more than on the wings as Ginola is effective in aerial play and in the area. Its Fantasy version is placed in the Scorer section.
Recommended Style: Engine

Darwin Nunez FUT Birthday, Liverpool, Premier League
While fans are still waiting for additional upgrades on his OTW, Nunez reappears in the Meta thanks to two FUT Birthday versions. If the stats are identical, the only change is on the number of stars: 5-4 or 4-5. The choice is quite easy here: if you're the type to use skill moves, favor 5-4, otherwise take the other version. Either way, you'll get a pretty original combo of speed and power. With the Finisher style, Nunez turns into a real machine in the area, especially as his agility is quite correct for this style of BU. Indeed, given his size and his strength, we are on a hybrid between a pivot and a classic striker. Therefore, be careful in terms of fluidity, because even if he has good agility with Finisher, his large size and lack of balance make his touch of the ball quite irregular.
Recommended Style: Finisher
Registered post: BU
Sadio Mané Flashback, Bayern Munich, Bundesliga
Sadio Mané has always been for us, a better central player than a left winger. The new member of Bayern Munich hasn't really changed on FIFA 23: a unique physique that makes him quite tanky (strong in duels) and compensates for his slight lack of balance, a rather classic 4-4 and good efficiency in front the goal. If we regret the lack of traits, Mané is clearly the card that almost everyone seems to appreciate in the game. This ease of use is its main strength, which makes it Meta at all levels. In addition, formatting his stats allows him to place the Eagle Eye style and thus maximize his speed and shot while maintaining an explosive run. Note that the OTW and RTWC versions are very close to the Flashback and the TOTS Moments version is in the Scorers section.
Recommended Style: Lynx Eye
Registered post: BU
Franck Ribery FDE, Salernitana, Serie A
While the Rulebreakers version was nice but a little weird for a Ribery card (less nimble than usual), EA celebrated the legendary French player's retirement with a great FDE version. While his agility is a little low for the level of the card, his ideal in-game physique will more than make up for it, allowing him to use the Hunter style. Explosive, the latter will be an ideal MOC finisher or an excellent AG transplanting towards the center. On the other hand, his small size and his lack of strength will limit his interest in BU.
Recommended Style: Hunter
Gerard Deulofeu Flashback TOTS, Udinese, Serie A
We already really liked his TOTW from the start of the season which we found very effective in BU, but this Flashback Gerard Deulofeu version is clearly above. The Spanish player is an excellent, well-rounded option, capable of playing on the wings as well as in MOC or BU. Very agile despite a somewhat average physique in play, Deulofeu is illustrated by a good finish in the area (beyond his stats). If he lacks a star or a few stats to be ultra Meta, Deulofeu Flashback is undoubtedly one of the best attackers in FIFA 23 at this price level.
Recommended Style: Hunter, Eagle Eye or Gunner
Kinglsey Coman TOTS, Bayern Munich, Bundesliga
Coman TOTS could have been a much better card if EA had decided to give it a choice of a weak foot 4th star or better traits. In fact, he is an excellent AG with great explosiveness and a good finish on his good foot. Also, his stats are well formatted for using the Finisher style, which makes him quite soft on the ball and relatively good on finesse shots. However, its price is mainly linked to its links, since without the French nation, it would most certainly be half the price.
Recommended Style: Finisher
Mykhailo Mudryk Futures Stars, Chelsea, Premier League
Bought for a hell of a fortune by Chelsea, Mudryk has already received a first special card with this Future Stars. The Ukrainian player has all the elements to be a particularly successful AG / MOC with 5-4 stars, an ideal physique in play and good offensive traits. In game, we really appreciated his unique physique even if his fluidity is not as good as a Joe Cole WC for example (the lack of reaction is felt). This is also why we recommend trying it with Canonnier. In addition, its secondary position in MOC is a big plus since it is precisely considered that it is a very good option in MOC finisher.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye or Cannoneer
Harry Kewell Fantasy, Premier League
After a very solid World Cup version, Harry Kewell is back with this Fantasy FUT. The differences with the WC are relatively limited and we have the feeling of being on a boost version but nothing more. A bad thing ? Not at all, since Kewell is generally a very good player, but we expected better. The average physics in game somewhat limits its fluidity (like on the WC) while it's hard to find the right style to use. In the end, Engine seems obvious in a role of MOC or AG while in BU we preferred Eye of the Lynx despite the loss of the explosive sprint.
Recommended Style: Hunter, Motor (Eye de lynx changes his running style)
Cristiano Ronaldo Flashback, Portugal
We will be very clear here, the main problem with this card lies in its links. Without it, Flashback CR7 would have been without hesitation one of the best forwards in FIFA 23 before TOTY. For what ? The answer is simple: it's Ronaldo in FIFA. The map features unique physics, extremely strong offensive AI (lots of auto-calls), and custom animations on shots. So we have a cocktail without comparison with speed, power and great efficiency in front of goal. A sort of TOTS Ronaldo from FIFA 20.
Recommended Style: Finisher or Hunter
Best position: BU
Eden Hazard FantasyReal MadridLa Liga
We have always appreciated Hazard on FIFA since he has a unique physique in play, which greatly improves his fluidity in play. From then on, the Real Madrid player turns into an excellent MOC, AG or even a BU, thanks to the three better offensive traits and good stats. Here, the Belgian player enjoys a nice improvement in his dribbling stats compared to his World Cup version, making him a relatively flexible option. We are therefore in a position to use a style like Hunter or Eye of the Lynx to improve our shooting level, the weakness of the card. However, such a style prevents explosive, which is a bit of a shame if you use it mainly in AG. With Hazard hardly playing this season at Real, the card only took one boost, limiting his interest.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye, Hunter or even Finisher
Registered post: MOC or AG
Kaoru Mitoma TOTS, Brighton, Premier League
While we were disappointed by the lack of weak footing in the Fantasy version, EA finally listened to us by giving Mitoma a real boost. The Japanese player is now a real Meta option for anyone on a budget on FUT. Indeed, although being available in objectives, Mitoma TOTS received a real evolution with a 4th star of weak foot but also a change on the output. Now high/medium, the winger will be much better on the wing with more aggressive calls although he remains very good in MOC (where we liked the most Fantasy). A real good little card, which nevertheless looks a lot like many other players of the genre.
Recommended Style: Vista
Angel Di Maria TOTT, Juventus, Serie A
If you played with his OTW this year, this TOTT card has nothing to do: 5-4 stars, a big up in balance and a relatively complete boost. Therefore, we are in the presence of a very versatile player in a role of left attacker which overflows. The Argentinian player is indeed capable of passing, penetrating the surface or shooting from a distance. However be careful, if we recognize the interest of the card, we do not like Di Maria's unique physique on FIFA, which makes him quite "long" and sometimes not very responsive. Also, if Hunter makes sense, we preferred him with Motor, limiting his goalscoring potential. We are in the presence of a good card but which will not be unanimous.
Recommended Style: Engine
Heung Min Son TOTS Moments, Spurs, Premier League
As with each of his versions, Son TOTS Moments is limited by one important point: his unique physique makes him quite rigid. Indeed, the Korean player is quite irregular in his ball touches due to a unique balance and physical combo that is never fully compensated by the stats. So even with the Motor style, Son won't be a truly nimble option. Worse, it's not Lengthy either. So you end up with an iconic BU, very strong in front of goal but who lacks either agility or physical power to really establish himself as an ultra Meta player. Note that he is a real goalscorer rather than a player on the wing, so the presence of the BU position on this TOTS Moments is a real plus.
Recommended Style: Engine

Neymar Jr, PSG, Ligue 1
You know the reasons behind Neymar's position in our list: a unique physique, personalized animations and a 5-5 star rating. This makes Neymar incredibly effective on the dribbles for anyone who knows how to use technical moves well. Apart from these, the Brazilian player remains a threat but his effectiveness will be more limited. Note that if some people like to play it on the wing, it is in our opinion much more effective in BU / MOC. In view of the Meta currently, a Neymar in MOC to distribute on two pivots was the best tactic. Note that his TOTW card is listed in our ranking of the best midfielders in FIFA 23.
Recommended Style: Hunter, Vista, or Eagle Eye
Registered post: MOC or BU
Joe Cole WC Heroes, Premier League
One of our favorites from last year, Joe Cole is an extremely agile and fluid ball-to-foot card. This is explained by a compact and agile physique but also by very good stats in dribbling. If this World Cup version is only a slight boost compared to the basic FUT Heroes, this one extends its interest in the current Meta. Note that we consider Cole as a creative MOC or player on the wings and that his lack of physical presence will limit his interest in BU.
Recommended Style: Engine

Jonathan Bamba FUT Birthday, LOSC, Ligue 1
A relatively similar card to his FUT Fantasy teammate Angel Gomes, Bamba is an excellent AG. It must be said that he combines an ideal in-game physique, 5-4 in stars, the exterior traits of the foot and intuition in addition to good offensive stats. Like his FIFA 21 TOTS, Bamba is very surprising from a distance with quality finesse while his dribbling is very fluid. On the other hand, his lack of reaction makes his touches of the ball a little irregular, which pushed us to try other styles than the classic Hunter/Eye of the lynx. For us, Finisseur was very interesting in the perspective of a role of AG which transplants towards the goal while Eye of lynx is very nice to shoot from distance.
Recommended Style: Hunter, Finisher or Eagle Eye
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Futures Stars, Naples, Serie A
Like a lot of cards on the left (Neymar, Son, Rashford), Kvaratskhelia will not be for everyone. Indeed, with an average physique in play, a lack of reaction and balance, the map is very irregular in its fluidity and ball control. Thus, it was difficult to really test the map as its effectiveness could vary depending on the quality of the servers and the tactics of our opponents. On a good day, Kvaratskhelia FS shines perfectly in a BU role or in MOC with Eye of the Lynx. At other times, even with Moteur, the Georgian player is frustratingly rigid. Therefore, it is a card that we recommend to test if possible, because its effectiveness will totally depend on your way of playing. Note that in style, we have tried several options: Engine can be used for more fluidity in a MOC role, Lynx's Eye if you are used to cards that are a bit pivotal, and Gunner/Finisher to really boost the flexibility of the card in a BU role. For its POTM 88, this one is a notch below this FS but represents a good way to test the player.
Recommended style: see above

Angel Gomes Fantasy FUT, LOSC, Ligue 1
Angel Gomes Fantasy FUT is one of the best examples of those somewhat under-the-radar DCEs that EA sometimes offers. Indeed, the English player is the prototype of the player on the wing with an excellent physique in play, a lot of agility and decent passing and shooting stats. Better, his 4-4 in stars and his offensive traits make him a very interesting option as a super-substitute or in AG. In the end, even if LOSC lost their match against the last in the championship, costing them a chance for a fourth upgrade, Gomes is a profitable and usable DCE as a super-substitute for the weeks to come.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye, Gunner, or Hunter
Registered position: AG or Super-substitute
Mislav Orsic WC Showdown, Dinamo Zagreb, Croatia
Although difficult to bind, Orsic WC Showdown is an excellent super-replacement. Fast, very agile thanks to a combo of dribbling stats and his in-game physique, the Croatian player is a real treat with the ball at his feet. If his finish is not as perfect as we would like in BU, he takes all his interest on the wings where he can use his flexibility to create spaces. Thus, it is recommended as a super-substitute to dynamite the end of the match, although this implies playing it without style.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye or Vista
Recommended position: Substitute
Ferran Torres RTTF, FC Barcelona, La Liga
After an elimination by Morocco preventing an upgrade of its very solid Showdown version, Torres suffered another premature defeat. Here, it is the elimination of FC Barcelona which reduces to nothing the chances of seeing an evolution. Be careful though, Torres RTTF remains extremely playable and effective, mainly in AG. The Spanish player has a 4-4 in stars, an ideal physique in play (but a large size, which reduces his fluidity and his agility a little) and solid stats. Even in BU, the latter is still interesting in a cheap La Liga formation, even if his speed is a bit low especially with the controlled style.
Recommended style: Engine, Hunter or even Vista
Jack Grealish PTG, Man City, Premier League
What ? Grealish so high in our FIFA 23 best forwards ranking? Yes, the English player really surprised us in game with a unique physique and a particularly explosive running style (with Engine or Finisher). Thus, in a role of MOC or AG, Grealish PTG proved to be a very flexible card to use, able to win its duels by speed or by its dribbling and thus to create spaces. Also, the map is upgradable and England's recent performance suggests a chance for several upgrades. A 4-5 in stars would make this an amazing MOC.
Recommended Style: Engine or Paver
Registered post: MOC or AG
Mattia Zaccagni Showdown, Lazio, Serie A
A card that we really did not expect, Zaccagni Showdown surprised a second time by obtaining the +2. Thus, this somewhat forgotten DCE (the majority of players must have thought that Napoli would win) turns into a solid GA card although its stats are not well formatted. It must be said that on paper, the Italian player has a 4-4 star rating, high/medium performance, outside of the foot and an ideal physique in play. However, his lack of stamina , shooting stats and calmness limit his interest at high level. So we find ourselves in a situation where we don't know which style to use (Vista, Eye of the Lynx or Hunter) on a somewhat generic card that we still like.
Recommended Style: Vista or Eagle Eye
Registered post: AG
Luis Diaz FUT Ballers, Liverpool, Premier League
One of the best cards in the FUT Ballers promo, Luis Diaz is still a little weak at this stage of the game. His main concern is with the use of the style which, along with Eagle Eye, causes him to lose the explosive run. While that wasn't much of an issue when the map was released, the next patch put the focus back on explosive players. Moreover, even with this very good style, Diaz is sorely lacking in regularity in his finishing. This is due in particular to his score in this category but also to a physique (yet ideal in play on paper) which is a bit rigid at times. We would therefore almost come to play it with Motor in pure AG which overflows and ashes but that would be to lose the interest of its very good shots in finesse.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye or Motor
Rafael Leao POTM/MOTM, Milan AC, Serie A
When we talk about Leao, we always and again talk about his imposing physique which somewhat limits his ball-to-foot fluidity. Like a CR7 or a Rashford, Rafael Leao combines a large size with a slight lack of balance which makes his touches of the ball irregular and forces the use of technical gestures to really maneuver in the surface. Apart from that, the combo of speed, power and success in front of goal is excellent, even on these POTM/MOTM versions which were a bit outdated when they were released. We are now waiting for a TOTS card for the Portuguese player, which should be incredibly expensive but also quite specific in use due to his particular physique.
Recommended Style: Finisher
Steven Bergwijn TOTS, Ajax, Eredivisie
On paper, Bergwijn TOTS could be very close to a Payet or a Saint-Maximin since he has a similar style of in-game physics. However, the weaknesses of the two French players on the touch of the ball seem exacerbated with a lack of stats in dribbling and finishing. We are therefore on a very irregular card on the finish and on the ball game, since depending on the gameplay of the game, Bergwijn will be excellent or nil. In the end, we preferred our experience with Canonnier, in order to improve some weak points, but the experience remains just as irregular.
Recommended Style: Cannoneer
Gareth Bale WC Stories, LA FC, MLS
While the memory of his FDE card from last year still lingers in our memory, Bale is back with this WC Stories release. For once, a lot of surprises for this map greatly undervalued by the community. With a unique physique and the outer line of the foot, Bale compensates for a lot of stat weaknesses, which makes him a very good AG/BU. Indeed, his average/average performance is clearly not a problem while his unique physique will compensate for his dribbling stats. However, it needs the Motor style, otherwise we found it too rigid.
Recommended Style: Engine
Registered post: AG or BU (but on the left)
Moses Simon RTTK, FC Nantes, Ligue 1
While we were among the only ones to place Simon relatively high on our FIFA 23 Best Attackers ranking, the change to Lengthy made such a card extremely powerful for the majority of players. For us, Simon has always been interesting (mostly in a super-sub role) due to a fairly unique combo of speed, agility, in-game physics, and strength. Although he is not extremely good on the finishing aspect, the FC Nantes player will create a lot of space with his explosiveness. A card that we always recommend as a super-replacement but also on the left wing.
Recommended Style: Vista
Registered position: AG or Super-substitute
Anthony Gordon Futures Stars, Newcastle, Premier League
All that for that… Yes we won't hide it from you, forcing ourselves to play additional matches in qualification purely to obtain this card did not delight us. Worse, Anthony Gordon FS is far from being the Meta card we were hoping for after investing so much time to unlock it… It must be said that in addition to the not necessarily well-formatted stats, its size limits the interest of its physique in play. The English player is a bit tall which makes his fluidity a bit random (a bit like Ferran Torres) especially as his calm and reactivity stats are relatively low. We therefore find ourselves on a map which, with a somewhat heavy gameplay, is too irregular to be played at a high level. In good condition, Gordon FS is quite efficient on the wing or even in MOC, without being a crack.
Recommended Style: Lynx Eye
Arnaut Danjuma FUT Ballers, Spurs, Premier League
A player we loved in Flashback version at the start of the FUT season, Danjuma is back with this time a Premier League FUT Ballers. For once, the feeling we had with him was not as good as with his previous card, but that is certainly due to the evolution of the Meta. In addition, we regret a little that he loses the explosive style so easily. However, Danjuma remains an excellent AG and one of the best free attackers in FIFA 23 thanks to a solid combo of speed, agility and power. However, we would have really liked a bigger boost (imagine this card in 89-90) especially since 90 in dribbling is a bit low given his average physical in-game.
Recommended Style: Lynx Eye
Freddie Ljungberg Hero Trophy Titans, Premier League
A card that we really liked in its WC version, Ljungberg is back in the Meta of cheap cards with this Hero Trophy Titans. Indeed, despite the upside compared to his World Cup, the Swedish player is extremely cheap. This is down to the number of alternatives currently available in the Premier League as well as his nation's lack of interest in ties. In game, Ljungberg remains quite agile (his in-game physique compensates for his lack of balance) and the Finisher style allows him to be a good option in MOC finisher. However, the lack of speed (without Hunter or Eagle Eye) greatly limits its interest, which leaves you in a situation where you will have to sacrifice the explosive style and its fluidity.
Recommended Style: Finisher (Explosive) or Hunter/Hawk Eye
Honorable Mentions: Vincenzo Grifo TOTS (Bundesliga), Leroy Sané TOTS (Bundesliga), Amine Gouiri Fantasy (League 1), Said Benrahma Fantasy (Premier League), Jamie Bynoe-Gittens Showdown (Bundesliga), Jesper Karlssoon MOTM (Eredivisie), Diogo Jota TOTW ( Sam Hoskins TOTS (ANG 4), Aiden McGeady FUT Ballers (SPFL), Milot Rashica Fantasy FUT (Super League), Stephy Mavididi TOTW (League 1), Denis Bouanga TOTW (MLS), Martin Terrier Centurions (League 1). The best right forwards in FIFA 23
Generally forwards on the wing need to have good speed and if possible a combo of agility and passing play to be effective. Note that here, several MD/AD cards will be offered with a different ideal position in note, to explain where to play it during the game.
Lionel Messi TOTY, PSG, Ligue 1
Well, unsurprisingly, the TOTY version of Messi is at the top of this ranking of the best right attackers in FIFA 23. The Argentinian was already at the very top of the Meta on the right with his RTTK while his TOTT is positioned in the Goalscorer part . As always with Messi, it's his unique physique that makes the difference, making him extremely flexible, agile and fluid with the ball. Better, the TOTY version greatly boosts its level of strength, allowing use in BU. Thus, between excellent AI, very effective shooting animations and incredible stats, the PSG player has everything to please. We will note as a bonus, the high / low yield, which makes it truly incredible in its placements and calls. In the end, Messi TOTY is a BU if you don't have ultra Meta options in front, but otherwise it's better to use him as a playmaker/finisher MOC to take advantage of the wide range of his stats. Note that the POTM/TOTW version is still playable, the RTTK is perfectly Meta while the Flashback now suffers from the comparison.

Recommended style: Hunter, Basic or Motor (if you prefer explosive)
Saeed Al-Owairan FUT Fantasy, MBS
New to FUT Heroes, Al-Owairan has quickly become a card hated and feared by many since the arrival of its World Cup version. It must be said that with a classic 4-4 star and an agile physique in play, the legendary player from Saudi Arabia is excellent in front of goal. Although its balance is a bit weak considering its size (1m84), the fluidity of the card is really good thanks to its physics in play. On the other hand, its current price is totally devoid of logic, which limits its interest for the vast majority of players. If we had anticipated here the interest of its World Cup card long before it became Meta (and very expensive), this Fantasy FUT does not bring anything more to justify a price four to five times higher during his exit.

Mohamed Salah TOTS, Liverpool, Premier League
Salah is always difficult to assess for us as we appreciate his card. For us, the advantage of the Liverpool player lies in his ball-to-foot fluidity, which goes beyond dribbling stats. Also, his 3 weak foot stars never bothered us but that's probably due to our habit of playing him. Thus, Salah is an excellent player on the wing but also in MOC or even in BU. If we would still have appreciated a boost from his weak foot, the switch to 5-3 makes him a much more Meta option at this stage of the game than his other versions. Note that our opinion is similar for the other versions of Salah: Centurions, Hors-Poste, TOTW 3 and 2 (same stats) which remain relatively playable for less expensive formations.

Rodrygo TOTS, Real Madrid, La Liga
For once, if its WC Phenomena card was clearly overrated (the price mainly coming from links), this TOTS is much more Meta even if its price is clearly too high for our taste. The Brazilian has an ideal physique in play, making him extremely agile and fluid. Best of all, the rest of his stats fit perfectly with using the Vista style, making him an ideal player on the wing. However, his lack of strength, traits, and mid/medium output make him an almost generic option. We are therefore on an excellent GA but which has nothing special apart from its excellent formatting of stats on a TOTS early in the season.

Moussa Diaby TOTS, Leverkusen, Bundesliga
With Leverkusen having just lost their semi-final against AS Roma, this TOTS version of Diaby has regained some value in the market. It must be said that if the RTTF had taken an additional boost, the latter would clearly have rivaled the TOTS. However, we end up with a 5-3 in stars card without outside of the foot and a 4-3 in stars but with more features. In fact, both versions have the same strengths: great speed and incredible agility. But they also have this same defect of the weak foot (a hair compensated by the outer line of the foot on the RTTF) which will necessarily limit their use. We are therefore on cards to play mainly on the wing or in super-replacement, where they will be extremely effective.
Recommended style: Vista or Sniper
Recommended position: Super-substitute
Bukayo Saka TOTS, Arsenal, Premier League
If we had found the TOTY MH version a little frustrating because it was a bit generic and limited in terms of finish, this TOTS card from Saka is totally different. The English player received a huge boost and a fifth star on weak foot, making him a true Meta option. What we like about this version of Saka is his versatility: being fast and agile, he has enough stats to evolve on the wings (left and right given his 5 PF stars), in MOC, in BU even in MC which goes up. Better, his defense is rather correct for this type of player, allowing him to evolve relatively low in a formation. Overall, we prefer him in AD for his agility and speed but use in BU is not bad in a device with two Goalscorers.
Recommended Style: Basic or Eagle Eye
Riyad Mahrez Centurions, Man City, Premier League
Mahrez fans have been waiting for a good special card for a while and EA has finally responded with this Centurions version. The Man City player has an extremely comprehensive arsenal with 5-4 stars, a unique physique, all Meta attacking traits. But it is the formatting of his stats that makes him really interesting since he is able to play all positions in attack. However, it is in a role of MOC / AD that we find him most effective, with shots outside the surface following a dribble on his vis-Ă -vis.

Antony FUT Birthday, Manchester United, Premier League
While we liked his OTW version following his second boost, this FUT Birthday card replaces Antony in the Meta passage of the game. It must be said that for an AD / AG, the 5-5 stars will help a lot. In addition, his ideal physique in play makes him very fluid despite his less than ideal dribbling stats (78 in reaction). Therefore, we are on a very good card on the wings but limited in a more central role, which reduces its value on the market. Note that both Canonnier and Vista worked for us and in the end it really all depends on the card's role in your training. However, it is a very expensive card in our eyes, you pay here for the excellent links.
Recommended style: Gunner or Vista
Gareth Bale FDE, LAFC, MLS
After an incredible End of an Era card last year on FIFA 22, Bale has managed the feat of getting a second less than a year later. The Welshman is therefore retiring and EA is celebrating with a cheap DCE for a very interesting card. It must be said that the former Real Madrid player has a unique physique (a bit rigid for our taste), 4-4 in stars, a whole collection of traits and above all, good stats. As a bonus, the card has several different positions, allowing it to be played in AD as well as in DG. In our opinion, its main use will be as a replacement for luxury, which limits the use of a style. Therefore, prefer a position in attack, where his traits and his stats (especially the shooting power) will make the difference at the end of the match. At 3/3 chemistry, Bale FDE is clearly an incredible card (with Hunter) although the lack of balance and agility might justify using Motor.

Gabriel Jesus WW, Arsenal, Premier League
Injured, the Brazilian player risks seeing his OTW stagnate until the end of the year. However EA had the good idea to offer a WW card to give fans a Meta version. We're going to be direct, we love Jesus on FIFA 23 since his agility is a real pleasure on the ball. Explosive and fast even with Eye of the Lynx, Jesus will be a very good AD capable of transplanting towards the goal. In a BU role, his 3 weak foot stars are a real weakness although he is still able to evolve in this position. We therefore regret a combo of stats a bit limited to the pass, weak foot stars and absence of the outside of the foot which tends to reduce its interest a little at a very high level on FUT.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye or Hunter
Samuel Chukwueze ALL, Villarreal, La Liga
While we already liked his FUT Birthday card quite a bit, Chukwueze is back with a special fourth card this season. The Nigerian player is an excellent player on the wing or even a super-backup thanks to an excellent combo of agility and speed. Better, it is illustrated by a good AI and a high/low output, ideal on the wing. In addition, his 4-5 in stars allows him to be played all over the field, a huge plus if you often change your device and tactics in game. Although a bit limited by his lack of trait and a bit generic in-game, Chukwueze TOTS is a great option on the cheap if you're playing with a La Liga team.
Recommended Style: Finisher
Nathan Tella TOTS, Burnley, EFL 2
Generally the TOTS cards of the little leagues are relatively or even very generic despite having good stats. This does not mean that the cards are useless but that overall they do not play at the expected level compared to the stats displayed. Here, Nathan Tella TOTS is an exception although the English player is not considered a Meta option. Indeed, with a small size, an ideal physique in play and excellent stats in agility, Tella TOTS is extremely flexible to use. Better, its stats are perfectly arranged for the use of the Gunner style. Therefore, without being a monster, Tella will be playable on the wing or as a super-substitute.
Recommended Style: Cannoneer
Federico Chiesa Hors-Poste, Juventus, Serie A
As you know, we love Chiesa on FUT! Agile (despite an average physique in play), quick and pleasant with the ball, the Italian player is generally an excellent attacker in his special versions on FIFA. Here, no surprise since Chiesa Hors-Poste is simply an evolution of its Gold version. Note that in a BU role, its lack of strength limits it a little but it remains playable in old-gen in this position.

Phil Foden TOTT, Man City, Premier League
We often mention Foden among our favorite cards on FIFA and this year again, EA has managed to give us a good special version. This TOTT is one of the best forwards in FIFA 23 due to great versatility. Thus, with 4-4 stars, AT, AG and AD positions, complete stats and an ideal physique in play, Foden is playable in all positions in attack with the exception of BU. If we would have loved a line like a finesse shot or outside of the foot, the Man City player is the ideal weapon if you like to change formation during the meeting.

Junya Ito TOTS Moments, Reims, Ligue 1
Ito is the prototype of the player on the wing: an ideal physique in play, a lot of speed, 4-4 in stars and relatively correct passing and shooting stats. The Japanese player is therefore effective even if a bit generic. However, given its price, it is highly recommended for those looking for an arrow on the right wing in Ligue 1 or a super-substitute capable of dynamiting a match. Note that in terms of style, Vista seems essential to us to improve its shooting stats.
Recommended Style: Vista
Philip Anderson RTTF, Lazio, Serie A
What a surprise ! While many are willing to spend millions on an AD or MOC, Felipe Anderson RTTF is the epitome of a cheap and effective option. The Brazilian player has almost everything: a unique physique, 4-4 stars, the best offensive traits in the game and good stats. With Eye of the Lynx, the latter is transformed into a real machine at a distance, allowing finesse and exteriors of the foot. For those who played with his Metamorphosed version last year, Felipe Anderson RTTF is clearly a particularly complete AD. Note that the Brazilian is playable in MOC. On the other hand, Lazio has been eliminated, so there will be no more improvements.

Lucas Moura RTTF, Spurs, Premier League
A card we love on FIFA, Lucas Moura is back with an RTTF version. Although Spurs lost their duel against AC Milan, this special card remains interesting from the perspective of a not too expensive Premier League AD or MOC. It must be said that with a unique physique in play (and a small size) and good stats in agility, Moura is extremely agile and fluid with the ball at his feet. Without possible upgrade, it will be necessary to do without improvement on the strength, the main weakness of the card. If Canonnier is interesting, we preferred Vista or Eye of the Lynx in style, especially in an MOC role.

Joao Felix WW, Atlético Madrid, La Liga
We're going to be frank, we don't appreciate Joao Felix's physique at play. Morality, whatever the version, the Portuguese player seems to us quite rigid, not very dynamic and generally not very effective. It's always the case with this WW although in fact we managed to have good numbers in matches. However, given its stats and price, we would have liked to get more. Therefore, we are here on a rather specific card, for those who appreciate his unique physique. We therefore recommend that you try out his Gold version a little, at least to familiarize yourself with his physique. Note that his FUT Birthday version is listed among the Scorers.
Recommended Style: Motor or Hunter
Best Position: MOC
Serge Gnabry TOTS, Bayern Munich, Bundesliga
Honestly, Gnabry TOTS looked extremely mundane to us as a card and it's not in comparison to other Bundesliga attackers since the majority of attacking cards were also very average. In fact, the German player is clearly not a bad option but given the price of his DCE, we could expect much better. Indeed, the main concern comes from the formatting of its stats, which prevents it from being explosive. Thus, we end up with a fairly ordinary winger who only really shines on his finesse shots. On this point, no problem, Gnabry is a real pleasure even without timing his shots. In the end, many, many options are considered superior, especially in this price range.
Recommended Style: Lynx Eye
Ousmane Dembele TOTW, FC Barcelona, La Liga
While his Gold version was just starting to drop in the Meta, now Dembélé got a TOTW! This significantly improves an already very interesting basic card, notably by boosting its physique and its balance: its two main weak points. Thus, the Frenchman continues to shine thanks to his 5-5 in stars and his unique physique but remains a difficult card to really exploit without using technical gestures. It must be said that its strength remains very weak while its finish is still imperfect, even with the Finisher style.
Recommended Style: Finisher or Eagle Eye

Nicolas Gonzalez FUT Birthday, Fiorentina, Serie A
Although a bit generic, Nicolas Gonzalez FUT Birthday is typically the kind of somewhat niche card that could do some players a lot of service. Indeed, with a 4-5 in stars, Gonzalez will be able to evolve in AG as in AD (he has both positions). Better still, his relatively complete stats and his outer line of the foot can also make him evolve into MOC or even BU depending on your team level. In the end, a somewhat generic but effective card, which will not be useful to everyone but which could be a good memory for some in the future.

Krepin Diatta TOTW, AS Monaco, Ligue 1
Diatta TOTW is quite a surprising card since on paper it might look quite generic. However, the AS Monaco player is really impressive given his price, with good agility (thanks to his ideal in-game physique) 4-4 in stars and great speed. Also, his finishing is pretty good despite the base shooting stats. Although he is more of a super-substitute, Diatta TOTW could also shine in an inexpensive Ligue 1 formation.

Recommended position: Super-substitute
Théo Walcott Flashback, Southampton, Premier League
If EA generally offers us expensive DCEs with not very useful cards, it sometimes happens that the game has more original and interesting cards. Although expensive, the DCE Théo Walcott FB offers a player with a unique physique, great speed (99/99) and the exterior line of the foot. Therefore even with a 4-3 star (which limits his interest in BU), the English veteran turns into an excellent player on the wings or even a very good super-substitute. Note that if a lot of players use Finisher or Gunner, we consider that Vista is also viable.
Recommended Style: Paver or Vista
Best Position: AD or super-sub
Miguel Almiron POTM, Newcastle, Premier League
We'll be honest, we didn't really get hooked on Almiron during our first matches. However, the patch changes the deal since its explosiveness is now a huge strong point, allowing it to evolve on the wing as in MOC. If his finish is clearly the black point of this card, Almiron compensates with good versatility on the ground. It should be noted that if he is relatively fluid with the ball (an ideal physique in play helps a lot), his balance sometimes remains a problem. Overall, it's this irregularity in finish and balance that limits the potential of a rather enjoyable card.

Mohammed Kudus TOTS, Ajax, Eredivisie
A rather strange card, Kudus TOTS had the potential to be one of the best attacking rights in FIFA 23. It must be said that the Ajax player has a lot of stats, allowing him to evolve almost everywhere between BU and MC which mounted. However, the card has a lot of weaknesses, making it a relatively generic option. Indeed, with only 3 weak foot stars, few Meta traits, a fairly low reaction level and a medium/medium yield, Kudus is a bit limited at this stage of the game. Nevertheless, with the Gunner style, he transforms into a solid MC who rises, taking advantage of his level in physicality and defense. Also, his ranged shots are pretty good.

Anthony Elanga Futures Stars, Man United, Premier League
A card on which the hype at launch was pretty incredible (the Premier League + Man United combo certainly) before falling apart, Elanga disappointed us. It must be said that his special Silver version last year was really excellent and we expected a similar feeling. However, Elanga FS seemed rather generic to us. Also, his fluidity is quite inconsistent due to quite uneven dribbling stats. From then on, one is pushed to use a style like Gunner to improve this point, which limits his offensive effectiveness as a player on the wing. We add to that 3 stars of weak foot without outside of the foot and in the end, we obtain a solid card but a little disappointing given the potential
Recommended Style: Cannoneer
Dejan Kulusevski FUT Ballers, Spurs, Premier League
After a relatively irregular RTTK card, Kulusevski is making a comeback with a FUT Ballers version. As a precedent, the Swedish player suffers from a fairly low level of shooting, which limits his interest at high level. In addition, if his dribbling stats are very solid, his fluidity remains limited by his physique in play. In the end, we find ourselves wondering where to play Kulusevski: his physique would make him a good BU but he is limited in shooting, his speed and level of passing make him an average option on the wings and his fluidity also reduces his interest in MOC. A rather strange card therefore, which has its moments but which will not be Meta for all that.
Recommended Style: Hunter or Eagle Eye
Julian Brandt POTM 89, Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga
After a not so bad but somewhat limited WC Star and a relatively mediocre first POTM, EA decided to reward Julian Brandt's excellent season by giving him a real good boost in this second POTM. Indeed, with +5 in agility, the rigid side of the German player is a little less pronounced. If his physique in play will further limit his fluidity, Brandt immediately becomes more interesting. He wouldn't miss much to become a very good MOC since his ball game (shooting, passing) is already very solid, especially with Eye of the Lynx. Another such boost (on speed or agility) on an upcoming map and Brandt would be Meta.
Recommended Style: Hunter or Eagle Eye
Jesse Lingard FUT Birthday, Nottingham Forrest, Premier League
Like an Alessandrini FUT Birthday, we were quite surprised at the quality of Lingard FUT Birthday for a free card. Although the map is a bit limited stat-wise (it lacks 2-3 overall rating points to be truly Meta), the English player is definitely playable. Thus with the Hunter style, Lingard is quite fast while his agility is more than adequate thanks to an ideal in-game physique. Therefore, we are there on an option for a cheap training or for future objectives but which remains playable and pleasant. On the other hand, we are more on a kind of MOC than player on the wing or BU.

FIFA 23 top scorers
Among our list of the best forwards in FIFA 23, it was impossible not to list the goalscoring role. Here, we will discuss the players listed in BU but also those whose main role is BU/AT.
Kylian Mbappé TOTY, PSG, Ligue 1
As we anticipated several months ago, EA's logic continues: Mbappé seems to receive a special card at regular intervals, in order to maintain the price of his Gold version. This Gold version is one of the best attackers in FIFA 23, at all costs, mainly for one reason: Mbappé's unique physique. This unique physique makes him both agile and powerful, allowing him to win a lot of duels. From then on, each special version of the PSG player will be Meta, from the first TOTW to the TOTY, passing through the two POTMs. What we like about Mbappé on FIFA is that he is playable by everyone, from Division 10 to Elite. If its TOTY makes it absolutely monstrous, the price of the latter is not justified compared to the other versions.

Recommended Style: Vista, Sniper, or Gunner
Christopher Nkunku TOTS, RB Leipzig, Bundesliga
What to say about Nkunku TOTS that you don't already know? The French player is the handyman on FUT. Able to play in BU, MOC, AG/AD, rising MC, box-to-box or even DD and DG, Nkunku is really capable of doing everything. However, given its price, we recommend using it in attack. So, in BU, Nkunku is a fairly agile and fluid option, able to dribble and finish in all positions thanks to his 5-5 in stars. Better, what we particularly appreciate about him is his offensive AI, which allows him to always find a space. So, without making super long Haaland calls, this offensive placement helps a lot, especially on short passes or in the box. In view of its stats, the use of the style will not have much importance except for the running style. Since we prefer it in explosive mode, the Basic style worked best for us, regardless of the position played. Note that the PTG version remains Meta while the FUT Birthday is clearly inferior to these two cards.
Recommended Style: Basic or Eagle Eye
Cristiano Ronaldo TOTS Moments, Al Nassr, MBS
One of the last special CR7 cards on FIFA? Thanks to this TOTS Moments, the Portuguese veteran continues to be one of the best strikers in FIFA 23, even while playing in the Saudi Arabian league. It must be said that his unique physique in play and his 5-4 in stars will always make him an interesting option if the stats are there. We are therefore once again on a rather incredible card, which concretizes each action in the area. However, be careful, because his lack of agility and balance (even with Motor) make him a player who is not very mobile without the use of technical gestures. Ronaldo TOTS Moments is therefore a physical BU, rather pivotal, which will be mobile only if you know how to spam your dribbles well. Note that his other special versions are now outdated at this stage of the game.
Recommended Style: Engine
Karim Benzema TOTY, Real Madrid, La Liga
While his WW card was a hybrid between an MC and a BU, this TOTY is clearly a BU ultra Meta. With a weak foot boost (now 4-5), very good stats and the two best attacking traits in the game (fine shooting and outside of the foot), the 2022 Ballon d'Or is cut to play in the box. Better, the formatting of his stats is ideal for use of the Engine style, making him a very good passer. Therefore, whether you use a formation with two BUs, three attackers or a single center pivot, Benzema TOTY will be effective. Note that his average physique in play (when will the unique EA physique?) sometimes limits his mobility a little, hence his position behind a card like Mbappé. On the other hand, the TOTW 92 version is clearly too limited at this stage of the game.
Recommended Style: Engine
David Ginola Fantasy, Premier League
At nearly 10 million credits, Ginola's Fantasy card is clearly overrated. Although 5-5 in stars and with good attacking traits, the French player doesn't have a unique physique. However in game, it is clear that the former PSG player is impressive despite shooting stats that would seem almost weak. This is actually a fairly important point on the map: do you need the extra agility provided by Engine? In our case, Engine seemed obvious to us even if it is playable without. It is the formatting of stats (need for speed, agility but a little weak level of shooting) which explains its position in our ranking. A double boost would perhaps change the deal even if the latter seems implausible.
Recommended Style: Engine
Gabriel Jesus TOTS, Arsenal, Premier League
What foot really what foot! Gabriel Jesus TOTS is exactly the kind of card we like (you must know that over time, we prefer agile players) with extreme fluidity and great explosiveness. Even though his price is clearly too high given the lack of Meta trait, the Arsenal player is absolutely amazing both in BU and on the wing. While his high/high output is sometimes a problem if you leave your default tactics (he'll tend to go down quite a bit), his attacking AI in the box is very good. We are therefore on an ideal card for a device with two BUs, in addition to a Lengthy BU.
Recommended Style: Lynx Eye
Erling Haaland TOTS/TOTY, Man City, Premier League
While it's easy to criticize FIFA for the rating of certain players, they got it right on Haaland. The Norwegian prodigy dominated a good part of the FUT season, like his season with City. However, be careful because Haaland is a card that does not please everyone, including in its TOTY and TOTS versions. Thus, the BU is unwieldy due to large size and lack of agility. However, this aspect was compensated by the Lengthy style which gives a very aggressive AI to the pivot BUs. This aggressiveness in calls has been the Norwegian's trademark throughout the season and even more so in his TOTY. However, the TOTS evolves in a controlled race, which changes a little the way of using it. We are therefore still on a powerful BU but the aggressive aspect of Lengthy disappears in favor of a little more flexibility in the surface. Also, the 4-5 in stars is an additional plus point, which will help in the box. Overall, both versions are playable but the choice will have to be made according to your style of play and your preferences. On the other hand, be aware that in both cases, Haaland is still not very agile. Note that his POTM is the best option outside of TOTS/TOTY.
Recommended style: Engine for the TOTS, Guardian or Eagle Eye for the TOTY
Antonio Di Natale FUT Heroes, Serie A
Without hesitation, Di Natale Fantasy FUT is one of the very best attackers in FIFA 23. The Italian player has an arsenal that makes him the prototype of the BU: 4-4 in stars, an ideal high/low yield, the best offensive traits in the game (outside of the foot, finesse shooting and flair) and an ideal physique for more responsiveness. Thus, the Fantasy FUT version of Di Natale has only one weakness left: the formatting of his stats. Indeed, the latter lacks a bit of agility, strength and firepower, which creates a situation where choosing your style is complicated. Also, the explosive racing style is a real plus but reduces the style possibilities.
Recommended Style: Hunter, Eagle Eye or even Vista
Lionel Messi TOTT, PSG, Ligue 1
Ok then, Messi is for us, one of the best cards on FUT due to a unique physique that makes him extremely flexible and responsive on the ball. Better, his finish allows him to be good in the surface but also outside, making him effective in MOC, BU or AD. Thus, two questions arise when you play with Messi: do you have one or more good BUs to place the Argentinian in MOC? But also, will the lack of strength be a problem for you in the box? Note level, we much prefer to use Messi in MOC capable of doing everything, thus taking advantage of the spaces created by two BU in front to sneak in and choose to score a goal or distill an assist. Besides, his TOTW version is still a good notch below this TOTT.
Recommended Style: Hunter or Eagle Eye
Registered post: MOC
Sadio Mané TOTS Moments, Bayern Munich, Bundesliga
Generally more of a player on the wing than a true BU due to an AI that pushes him onto the wing and a lack of attacking traits, Sadio Mané TOTS Moments challenges that view a bit. The Bayern Munich player has an excellent card there with 5-4 in stars, a unique physique, the outer line of the foot but above all an ideal formatting of his stats. Even with the Eagle Eye style, the latter remains explosive, a huge positive point in view of the map. From then on, Mané will be playable on the wing but also in MOC and especially in BU in a device with two Goalscorers. However, her offensive AI continues to push her outward, which is why we prefer her in a two-BU format.
Recommended Style: Lynx Eye
Alexis Sanchez TOTS/Fantasy FUT, OM, Ligue 1
We'll be honest, we almost liked the Fantasy version more than Alexis Sanchez's TOTS. In fact, the two cards are extremely close and we consider that given the price difference, Fantasy is much more profitable. Either way, you're in the presence of one of the best strikers in FIFA 23. It must be said that with a 4-4 star rating, the best offensive traits in the game and a unique physique, the card has it all. . Even the absence of the explosive style (disappeared on the Fantasy after two upgrades) on the two versions no longer bothers us as its stats are complete. Note that we prefer to play it in MOC rather than in BU with Fantasy but the TOTS has more than enough strength to evolve in a central position.
Recommended Style: Lynx Eye
Anthony Martial RTTF, Man United, Premier League
If a good part of the RTTF cards need improvements to really be interesting, Anthony Martial's is already Meta! It must be said that the Man United player has all the arsenal to be a real good BU: good offensive stats (allowing Eye of the Lynx), a unique physique in game and some of the best traits in the game. Thus, even without an upgrade additionally, Martial RTTF is a very good card in a two-BU scheme, in order to use the French player's solid passing game. Better, this one is also able to play on the wing with a style like Motor.
Recommended Style: Lynx Eye
Harry Kane TOTS, Spurs, Premier League
Harry Kane is a bit unique in the landscape of FIFA scorers since despite a great physique, the latter is a kind of Pivot-relay in the area. Indeed, the English player has a solid level of passing and a very good attacking AI, which allows him to be used to build play. This feeling is present both on the TOTS and his TOTY MH, the two cards being relatively close. In addition to this torchbearer side, Kane also brings a great physical presence in the area, allowing him to play aerial balloons. In the end, while being a somewhat unique player on FUT, the English player is also an excellent example of a Lengthy BU on FIFA 23.
Recommended Style: Basic, Catalyst, or Engine
Robbie Keane FUT Heroes WC, Premier League
One of our favorite cards last year, Robbie Keane is again this year, one of the very best attackers in FIFA 23. It must be said that if his basic version was already very nice, the World Cup is a whole other animal. We are going to be cash, apart from Mbappé (due to his 5 GT stars and his unique in-game physique), no BU is better than Keane WC at the time of his release. If we weren't sure on our first night with him, the explosive sprint style boost made him absolutely amazing. With an excellent finish (4-5 in stars), great speed and dragster explosiveness over the first few meters, Keane is excellent in the box and on the calls. Also noteworthy, a top-notch offensive AI.
Recommended Style: Hunter or Engine
Antoine Griezmann PTG, Atlético Madrid, La Liga
We told you, we announced it but even with that, many were surprised at the progress on the market of Griezmann PTG. Once a cool MOC card in its base version, this one is now a great BU with 5-5 stars and the best offensive traits in the game. Best of all, its unique physics make it a truly amazing ball-to-toe card. Although a bit limited in terms of strength to play a pivotal BU role, he is the perfect complement to another stronger scorer. And if you are lucky enough to have very, very heavy players in front (typically players listed around Griezmann in this guide), the French player will be able to evolve perfectly as MOC. Note that his POTM has an excellent high/medium yield which boosts his AI even more and that the 4-4 in stars makes him a very Meta option for the end of March. On the other hand, his TOTW 89 is clearly several levels below the POTM and the PTG.
Recommended Style: Hunter
Tammy Abraham RTTF, AS Rome, A Series
Pivot scorers are very specific because if you're not used to using them, they won't be effective at all. Heavy but powerful, these players need to have a special device to really draw their full potential. Especially since we consider that only users of next-gen versions should evolve with Lengthy pivots, because the latter have a much better AI with this style of racing. Here, Abraham RTTF is really the prototype of the BU Pivot: a very large size, a lot of strength and great efficiency in the surface. Better, the English player has the best offensive traits in the game, which allows him to finish with finesse, on the outside of the foot but also to dominate in the air. It is for this reason (the presence of the powerful head trait) that we recommend using Eye of the Lynx rather than Motor, in order to improve your aerial game. In addition, we really appreciate the aggressiveness in his game (both on his calls and on his ability to steal the ball from a defender) and this style increases this stat a little more. Especially since AS Roma's victory in the semi-finals gave them an incredible 4-5, which would make them a playable option even during this TOTS period.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye or Motor
Roberto Firmino RTTF, Liverpool, Premier League
It happens quite often that we come across cards that are difficult to position, but few are as special as Firmino RTTF. The Brazilian has a high/high yield and important defensive stats, allowing him to evolve in MC box-to-box as well as in BU. In addition, the possibility of evolutions makes the map very interesting since the possibilities will be even greater. Nevertheless in the current state of the card, Firmino RTTF is in our opinion a better BU or even MOC finisher, due to a 5-4 in stars, a unique physique but above all very good offensive stats (with Chasseur ). While lack of traits and firepower are issues at this price point, Firminio RTTF is still far too versatile a card not to be used. In particular, we recommend playing him with a more physical BU at his side or even as an attacking trio, in order to benefit from his distance shots and his passing game.
Recommended Style: Hunter or Eagle Eye
Julian Alvarez Futures Stars, Man City, Premier League
On paper, Julian Alvarez should be a real demon: 4-5 in stars, the three best offensive traits in the game and an explosive running style. However, his in-game physique is a bit average, reducing his agility and fluidity. Also, high/high yield is not necessarily optimal. In fact, Alvares FS is very solid but its efficiency is not much better than a Ben Yedder Centurion and we preferred Keane WC although the two cards are very similar.
Recommended Style: Hunter or Eagle Eye
Saeed Al Owairan FUT Heroes WC, MBS
While its basic version had been underestimated by almost everyone (except us) Al Owairan WC immediately exploded in the market due to the arrival of the new Meta. It must be said that the player combines crazy speed, good agility (ideal physical in-game), 4-4 in stars and an excellent finish on shots. Although devoid of line (like a Forlan), Owairan is the very example of the lively and agile BU which will create its own spaces in defense. Note that all FUT Heroes cards will passively have 3/3 collective, making it very easy to add to your formation.
Recommended Style: Vista
Angel Correa WC Showdown, Atletico Madrid, La Liga
As explained from his Gold version in this article, Correa is one of the best forwards in FIFA 23 due to amazing AI. This is clearly one of the best in the game with an offensive placement and golden calls. Thus, it is a formidable weapon in a fast passing game format. Here, this version is a very good improvement of the TOTW, with always this flexibility on the ball at the foot and an extraordinary efficiency in the surface. A real monster that we use regularly in addition to the best BUs in the game.
Recommended Style: Hunter
Alexander Isak Fantasy, Newcastle, Premier League
Isak has always been quite a special card in FIFA due to a very rare physique in the game: tall but supposedly fluid. So, we are in a situation where the physical is at the heart of the card, either you like it or you hate it. In our case, we really appreciate Isak although we are used to more agile players. While we had mentioned when he left the lack of shooting using the Motor style, his first two boosts significantly improved the Swede's efficiency in front of goal. Thus, this double upgrade in shooting level (and elsewhere) now makes it a very good BU thanks in particular to the 4-5 in stars and the outer line of the foot.
Recommended Style: Engine
Zlatan Ibrahimovic Centurions, Milan AC, Serie A
Like last year, Zlatan got a special high-level card around Christmas. And like last year, this one is clearly overpriced on the market. It must be said that the value of a card is more often linked to its rarity and the popularity of the player than to its true level in play. Here, Ibrahimovic Centurions is a fairly heavy pivot, Lengthy, who requires playing in a specific to really take full advantage of its stats. So we recommend using a style like Cannoneer rather than Motor, because the gain in agility will not be enough to really compensate for its stats. If your style of play fits this type of players, then Zlatan will be excellent due to a unique physique, 5-4 stars and a wide range of traits. However, at its current price (more than 3.3m at the beginning of February), we believe that there are many alternatives.
Recommended Style: Gunner or Engine
Diego Forlan FUT Heroes Trophy Titans, La Liga
EA opted for the easy way by performing a minimalist boost on Diego Forlan. The former star therefore sees his World Cup version evolve a little bit with +2 in speed and physics but nothing else. Thus, our opinion on the map has not really changed (automatic in the area, very effective on ranged shots but not very agile) but the concern is that its World Cup was published at the beginning of November. We are therefore there in an effective but outdated BU card compared to the best attackers on FIFA 23 currently and above all, two weeks from the first TOTS cards. The solution to avoid making this map outdated would have been to add a star and/or potentially some traits.
Recommended Style: Engine or Hunter or even Eagle Eye
Romarinho TOTS, Al Ittihad, MBS
Like every year since FIFA 20, Romarinho got a playable TOTS card, albeit a bit generic. Indeed, the Brazilian player is a classic 5-4 with average physical play and no notable traits. However, its stats are rather well formatted, allowing to obtain an excellent MOC or BU according to the style used. For us, Romarinho TOTS has been a much better MOC with the Vista style, giving him a solid passing game but above all a very interesting explosive style. Others will prefer Canonnier for use in ST, in a formation with two Scorers. Either way, Romarinho is interesting but a bit generic: it won't stand out for long and you'll find better in the same price range.
Recommended Style: Vista or Canonnier
Timo Werner FUT Birthday, RB Leipzig, Bundesliga
Extremely used between FIFA 20 and FIFA 21, Timo Werner fell back a bit into anonymity like his pro career. If we continue to appreciate the German striker both in Leipzig and in the game, it is obvious that Werner's reputation has been a little scratched during his time at Chelsea. The proof, the price of this FUT Birthday which is clearly undervalued. With a unique physical in-game (which partially compensates for the lack of balance), 4-5 stars and excellent stat formatting for the Finisher style, the BU will be deadly in-game. Indeed, their offensive AI is very decent , his explosiveness and in-game physique make the difference in duels while his finishing is now much more consistent than on his previous cards. Both on the wing and in ST, Werner is undoubtedly one of the very best strikers in FIFA 23 in this price range.
Recommended Style: Finisher
Rafael Leao WC Phenomena, AC Milan, Serie A
If we had found his POTM rather good (without being impressed), we are here in a whole other dimension. Leao WC Phénomènes is, without a doubt, one of the best strikers and above all scorers in FIFA 23. It must be said that the Portuguese player has almost everything going for him: 5-4 in stars, the best offensive traits (outside of the foot and shots in finesse) as well as a very good combo of speed, finishing and physicality. From then on, all he lacks is a better physique in play to compensate for his balance. Because even with Finisher, the latter remains a little rigid in small spaces. A very good card but we prefer a player like Di Natale who is more flexible in use.
Recommended Style: Finisher
Rudi Voller FUT Heroes WC, Bundesliga
Although we found his basic version a bit generic, we were the only ones who really believed in Rudi Völler. A good boost and a change of Meta further and here it is close to the million during its week of release! On paper, the German player remains close to his basic FUT Heroes version with a 3-4 in stars and an average in-game physique. However, his agility, speed and physique have progressed well, making him an excellent BU for players not looking for technical gestures. Incredible in the surface, the latter will be able to take full advantage of the Motor style to gain flexibility without sacrificing his scoring skills.
Recommended Style: Motor or Hunter
Wissam Ben Yedder Centurions, AS Monaco, Premier League
After a first TOTW placing him in the Meta of low budget cards, here is a new special version for Ben Yedder. This FUT Centurions turns him into a real Meta option for endgame formations and potentially a cheaper alternative to Mbappé. As always, the French player continues to represent the prototype of the scorer on FIFA: 4-5 in stars, a unique physique in play and outside of the foot in line. His only limit remains the shots outside the area, he will need a new evolution to solve this problem. Note that we prefer its Centurions version to the POTM, even if the differences are very limited (the finesse shooting trait is less in particular). Also, the TOTW 88 is very cheap for a cheap BU Meta option.
Recommended Style: Hunter
Diogo Jota Fantasy, Liverpool, Premier League
If you are used to this guide, you know that we were very disappointed with the "basic" version of Jota Fantasy. The Portuguese player was losing his explosive running style with Chasseur but his shooting and speed stats required this style. However, Jota obtained three upgrades, thus transforming the map. Now, the attacker can be used with Motor while maintaining a good success in the box thanks to the gain on his shooting stats. From then on, we find a card much closer to its Gold version: 4-5 in stars, an excellent offensive AI and a good explosiveness on the first meters. It only needs a few stats to really make it an ultra meta card.
Recommended Style: Engine
Richarlison Flashback, Spurs, Premier League
Richarlison is a player who creates discord both in real life and in game. Indeed, the Brazilian player is either the ideal BU in certain formations or a rigid pointless pivot for others. At least, that was the case for its OTW and WC Stories versions but this Flashback card clearly changes the deal. So, after testing it with Engine (to a relatively poor result), we opted for the Hunter style. There, Richarlison Flashback proved to be much more interesting: a rather good offensive AI, mobility that remains very solid despite the lack of balance and above all, incredible shooting accuracy. Also note his effectiveness on short passes, the latter registering as many assists as goals during our test matches. In the end, although the boost is very limited compared to the WC Stories version, the result in game is much higher.
Recommended Style: Hunter
Ousmane Dembele WW, FC Barcelona, La Liga
We hesitated for a long time to place Dembélé WW in BU since in fact, it is really an AD / MOC. It must be said that his stats and especially his strength make him a bad BU (given his price) but a formidable weapon on the wings. For the rest, the Frenchman continues to shine thanks to his 5-5 in stars and his unique physique but remains a difficult card to really exploit without using technical gestures. This card is therefore relatively special and we do not recommend it for beginners.
Recommended Style: Paver or Vista
Registered post: MOC or AD
Memphis Depay Fantasy, Atletico Madrid, La Liga
We will be direct: Depay Fantasy is a pure AG not a BU. Indeed, the 3 stars of weak foot limit too much its effectiveness in the surface, making its use as a Goalscorer difficult to justify at high level. Even with the outer line of the foot and good shooting stats, his bad foot isn't consistent enough to warrant a ST placement. On the other hand, on the wing, Memphis Depay is illustrated by a unique physique which makes him particularly powerful in a duel. Better, his attacking AI seems totally designed for use on the wing with good calls from deep. Therefore, it is recommended to use the Motor style to improve your speed but especially your passing game and your agility.
Recommended style: Engine or even Architect
Registered post: AG
Wlodzimierz Smolarek Heroes WC, Bundesliga
No trait, 3-4 in stars, a strong physique and the Polish nation, everything seems to be playing against Smolarek WC. And yet, the World Cup version of Wlodzimierz Smolarek is in a whole different world compared to the basic one. Powerful, fast, sufficiently agile, the Polish player has a Fekir side (the same style of physique) that we really appreciate. In addition, his strength makes him a real BU capable of winning his duels despite his small size. A real nice surprise for a player that we hope to be able to find with a new special version in a few months.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye or Basic
Romain Alessandrini FUT Birthday, China
Probably the best free card of the season, Romain Alessandrini FUT Birthday is an excellent player on the wing and a more than correct BU. With 5-4 in stars, the outside line of the foot and solid stats, the French player is illustrated in the surface but also by a good burst of speed. If his dribbling stats and his average physique in play somewhat limit his ball-to-foot fluidity, Alessandrini compensates with his technical gestures and a small size. In addition, its high/low output is ideal in front, especially on the wings for deep calls. With the French nation making it easy to link him to, Alessandrini FUT Birthday is one of the best strikers in FIFA 23.

Best Position: AD or BU
Wout Weghorst Showdown, Man United, Premier League
As often with this type of BU, either you like Lengthy players or you hate them. Weghorst is the prototype of the pivot scorer, with a very large size, an impeccable finish (with Chasseur), a high top speed but a rather low level of agility. Therefore, such a card requires knowing how to exploit the calls and the placement of Lengthy players to really succeed in exploiting it. If this condition is met, Weghorst transforms into a mini-Haaland, with quite incomparable dueling power. Although the boost was missed (Man United having been carded 7-0 by Liverpool), the map remains fully playable even at a high level.
Recommended Style: Hunter
Jean-Pierre Papin Fantasy FUT, Ligue 1
Olympique de Marseille did it! The Olympians managed to chain 6 matches without defeats, allowing Papin Fantasy FUT to become one of the best attackers in FIFA 23 under 200k in the event of a good run by the Olympians. Indeed, JPP is very solid with a perfect formatting of his stats to use the Engine style but suffers from a lack of speed and physics. With Motor, the legendary OM player is excellent in finishing while being quite correct on the fluidity aspect. In addition, the added traits are particularly Meta, with now exterior of the foot, finesse, flair and powerful head. However, even after the +2 obtained via the two boosts won by OM, his 3-4 in stars, his lack of speed and physics are felt at the highest level.
Recommended Style: Engine
Dusan Tadic TOTS, Ajax, Eredivisie
We often talk about generic cards on FIFA with the TOTS but Tadic is one of the rare cards of the Eredivisie team to stand out. The excellent Ajax player is indeed a very good BU/AG when he is Lengthy since his attacking AI combined with this running style makes him very aggressive in his calls. Better, the 5 stars of technical gestures and his unique physique compensate for the lack of agility, allowing him to make moves in the surface to make the difference. Finally, his finish is very consistent, even on long shots. So, without being exceptional, this card from Tadic is really interesting and playable. Too bad his nation is forcing Eredivisie ties, limiting his interest.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye or Cannoneer
Joao Pedro TOTS, Watford, EFL 2
A card whose price is not really explained except via the nation and its rarity in the packs, Joao Pedro TOTS disappointed us a little. It must be said that we loved playing with his special card in the Silver Lounge on FIFA 21 as well as with his Future Stars on FIFA 22. However here, the combo of a fairly large size and a lack of balance considerably reduces the effectiveness of his physics in play. In addition, the absence of the Explosive run makes such a card much less dynamic, a major weakness given the irregularity of his ball touches. However, Pedro TOTS is more than playable, especially in the right device. It must be said that the rest of his stats are quite complete while he has an absolutely incredible arsenal of offensive traits. Therefore, Pedro is the kind of card that is a little over-rated but which will work for certain types of players.
Recommended Style: Basic, Paver or Engine
Joao Felix FUT Birthday, Atlético Madrid, La Liga
As mentioned on his WW version (present among the right attackers) we do not really appreciate Joao Felix's physical appearance. Rigid and sometimes a bit slow, the Portuguese player has always been an option that we have not appreciated. Here no change since the gain in agility remains very limited. Also, his main position in ST is clearly not ideal because in fact, Felix FUT Birthday is a MOC not a scorer. Even now with a 5-5 star rating, we don't recommend using it as a spike. With a price exceeding one million the week of its release, the Portuguese player makes you pay for his links above all else.
Recommended Style: Motor or Hunter
Best Position: MOC
Giacomo Raspadori RTTF, Naples, Serie A
We often talk about badly formatted cards and here Raspadori RTTF really suffers from two or three somewhat limited lines. We start with an average physique in play, which reduces his flexibility with the ball at his foot. Then, a level of agility a bit low (especially with this physique in play) which makes its fluidity quite irregular. Thus, the use of Finisher or Engine seems ideal but the speed of the map is a little low… From then on, we had a lot of trouble finding the ideal style but also the best position for Raspadori. In fact, its 4-5 stars allow it to be used in BU as well as on the wings, while its stats can make it a good MOC with the Engine style.
Recommended Style: Finisher, Motor or even Hunter
Karim Adeyemi Futures Stars, Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga
Adeyemi FS is a card that we have the impression of having already seen and reviewed. That's not to say it's a bad card as the German player is still one of the best strikers in FIFA 23 in his price range. Only, the map is relatively generic with an average physical in play, 4-4 in stars and a slight lack of stats in dribbling. Thus, we are on a solid BU, like Politano WW or Fati OOP, but whose effectiveness will depend on your playing habits. Especially since his offensive AI is correct without more. From then on, everything will depend on your device (we recommend a scheme with two BUs) and the style applied.
Recommended Style: Gunner, Vista, or Finisher
Mario Balotelli Flashback, FC Sion, Suisse
A card that reminded us of his TOTS from last year, Mario Balotelli Flashback falls into this rather special category of powerful BU but a minimum of agile. Thus, like a CR7 (in Lenghty) or a Cantona Mid (again in Lengthy), Balotelli will be relatively agile and capable of performing good technical gestures while resisting many duels. It is therefore necessary to find the right offensive scheme and of course to be able to master a few skill moves to really make the most of it. Once (and only then) you have met these conditions, the Italian player will be one of the best strikers in FIFA 23 in this price range. Note links that are not easy without an Italian Icon card.
Recommended Style: Hunter or Gunner
Dante OOP, OGC Nice, Ligue 1
When EA lets go and offers us slightly different cards, it often results in inefficient players. But here, this Out Of Position version of Dante is really very pleasant and surprising. The Brazilian player is illustrated by an incredible presence in play, both offensively (a good AI) and defensively (his defensive stats and his strength allow him to often recover the ball in attack) thanks to his Lengthy style. In addition, his speed is excellent as is his finishing. If his 3-5 in stars could limit his interest with certain players, his outside line of the foot improves his finishing in the box even a little more.
Recommended Style: Hunter
Sebastien Haller Moments, Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga
The new benchmark for inexpensive pivot BUs! Seb Haller Moments is exactly the style of DCE we would like to see more of on FUT. The Dortmund player has made a very powerful return to real life and to be highlighted like this by EA is a very nice gesture. Better still, his card is particularly effective if you like Lengthy BUs. It must be said that at this level, Haller has all the kit you need: a large size, 5 stars of weak foot, ideal stats with Hunter, the powerful head trait and 99 in force. From then on, the Dortmund BU will be incredible in the aerial game but especially in a pivotal role on a formation with one or two attackers in front.
Recommended Style: Hunter
Matteo Politano WW, Naples Serie A
The type of card that we would like to find more often in DCE, Matteo Politano WW is a marvel. At this price level, the Italian player is capable of playing all the roles. Sometimes a BU, sometimes a player on the wing, Politano benefits from a 4-4 in stars, many traits (including some brand new ones), an ideal performance (high/low) and good stats to terrorize defenses. Only downsides in sight, the somewhat average physique in play and an AI that is not elite.
Recommended Style: Eagle Eye, Hunter, or Finisher
Charles de Ketelaere Futures Stars, Milan AC, Serie A
Important : this notice covers the two positions of CDK FS, the AG and BU version.
Charles de Ketelaere FS is quite an intriguing DCE because the choice will determine your use of the card. Let's start with the card in BU, who with 4-5 in stars and a great physique, is a Lengthy pivot scorer. With Canonnier, you get a sluggish but extremely effective map in the area. In addition, his aerial game is very solid, both on the heads and the volleys. An ideal card for Serie A players who appreciate more physical scorers like Giroud, Sorloth or Cantona Mid (in Lengthy). Conversely, the AG version is more difficult to learn because its stats make the use of a rather complicated style. In the end, two options are open to you according to our tests. First of all, a Motor style for a pure player on the wings, capable of winning duels and crossing/scoring. Or a second, in MC mode which rises (on a 3 MC formation) or even in MOC in a 4-5-1 or 4-2-2-2 in order to use his defensive/physical stats and his large size for a minimum defend. Overall, the DCE Charles from Ketelaere FS is interesting for the options it offers, although a little expensive given the overall level of the card.
Recommended style: Cannoneer in BU, Motor or Shadow in AG/MC
Recommended position: see above
Fernando Morientes FUT Fantasy, La Liga
Already interesting in the World Cup version in Lengthy, Morientes is back with a little improved Fantasy FUT version. However, we were pleasantly surprised since this little upgrade nevertheless makes it a very good BU, in Lengthy mode only. Indeed, outside of this style of running (and therefore in the old gen version), the Spanish player will not be as efficient, with fewer calls and a less biting offensive AI. The interest of this card lies in the possibility of having one or two upgrades depending on the results of Real Madrid. With a +2, we are convinced that Morientes will be an excellent BU Lengthy but not too pivotal, a kind of game creator in the area, capable of making the last pass as well as scoring.
Recommended Style: Cannoneer or Eagle Eye
Ansu Fati Hors-Poste, FC Barcelone, La Liga
It's the return of Ansu Fati in your teams! The FC Barcelona player has had excellent special cards in the past (RTTF, Future Stars, FUTTIES or even TOTS Objectifs) and this Off-Post is in the same vein. We find an ideal physique in play which makes him very agile, good speed and a correct finish in front of goal. If we mentioned when it was released a card that we recommended more in old-gen than in next-gen, Lengthy's nerve makes Fati OOP an excellent option in BU on both supports.
